Kein Gesetz verbietet das Nutzen von Tieren. Doch was sagen Vernunft, Moral und Ethik? Heller Wahnsinn, sagt die Vernunft, allein schon, weil 70 Prozent der landwirtschaftlich nutzbaren Flächen für die Fleischproduktion verwendet werden. Auch aus Gründen der Moral sollte man auf den Fleischkonsum verzichten, wenn man sich in den Schlachthöfen umsieht.
Jeder, jede soll das essen, was er oder sie für vertretbar hält, sich aber immer darüber im Klaren sein, dass Fleisch das Resultat von Tötung, von menschlicher Macht gegen tierische Ohnmacht ist.

Meat, plain folly

There is no law that forbids the use of animals. But what do reason, morals and ethics tell us? Plain folly, says reason, and be it only for the fact that 70 percent of all agricultural land is employed to produce meat. For moral reasons we should renounce all meat consumption as well, if we have a look into slaughterhouses. Everybody may eat what he or she deems justifiable as long as we are clear that meat is a result of killing, of human power over animal helplessness.
